My Letter To ‘Pac

“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive. Never surrender.” – Tupac Amaru Shakur

16 years has passed
Since they assassinated the king of rap (and)
Despite your desperate efforts, we are still trapped
In a world where young adults are strapped (and)
The tears of a mother when her son is wrapped
Heading towards eternity, in his nation’s flag
Unable to surrender, just like you, and our soul disrupt (but)
Good die young, and the bad seeds corrupt
Life in all its holy forms, it never fails to interrupt
Intelligence is treated with utmost neglect
Fear is all I feel, and death is what I expect
Eternally devoted to the cause, and I won’t reject (it)
And I still remember what you told me
(To) Keep my head up, and if I stay down
To never give up, and it is as you say:
After every dark night, there is a brighter day.

“I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world. ” – Tupac Amaru Shakur

We have to make CHANGES.

I agree with Pete, your poem is very well written and creatively expressed! I have to be honest in saying that I’m not familiar with rap artists, but his quotes are profound and meaningful! An important message understood, Alex!
