Never Let Me Go

Outside the battle is raging
Inside his heart is racing
Beating for the girl he is chasing
Young, idealistic – unaware of what he’s facing
Outside the battle is raging
A gentle mind but his heart is aging
No point in wrestling demons, when the world is enraging
Completely aware of the darkness he’s engaging
Outside the battle is raging
When he departs, he leaves her a note
“This is not farewell, but a “see you soon”, he wrote
“To you, my dear, my heart I devote”
“But for now, I must go, I can hear them pacing”
Outside the battle is raging
He spots the young general with ease
Reckless, young and fierce
He calls for the cannons and thinks to himself:
Go in peace“.

Outside the battle has quieted
The sky is dark and the night drenched in rain
Absolute silence, except for a young widow’s pain
Her lover and husband lay slain
His loyal subjects carry him off to his tomb
And a silent promise of revenge resides in her womb

really like this alex. certainly a social message in this. unfortunately these things do happen. but it can be taken two-fold as to a relationship that has soured individually.

There is definitely some shots fired at society in this, and it came as no surprise to me that you’d see through it! Always a pleasure to read your comments, it intrigues me that you seem to read my work so well 🙂

i’m glad that you like to read my comments i send your way. possibly the reason why i may be able to read your work so well is that it could be that we have some likeness as to experiences in life:)
