Three Shots Rang in November

JFKThree shots rang in November
Three shots rang in November

They hit a man, a father, a husband, a brother
Slumped into the arms of his lover
What have they done she asked, over and over
What have they done she asked, over and over
Captured on film, for her to relive, over and over
Eternally condemned to be a professional mourner

They mythologize the president, but forget the person
They scream of conspiracies, championing their version
Neglecting the core of a global tragedy
A husband shot dead in front of his wife.
Two little children forced to live a fatherless life.
An undignified end, for a very dignified man
[But] A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on.

A son's final salute of his father
A son’s final goodbye
